Walk description: The Heath Trail is one of four walks on the National Trust-owned Divis and Black Mountain site, taking in the northern end of the mountain and offering views toward Slemish. Good trails for walking and spinning the legs on the bike. Other views from the viewpoint include the Mourne Mountains, Scotland and the Isle of Man. The Divis Ridge Trail allows the walkers to enjoy 180 degree views across the city and further afield including the Antrim Plateau to the north, Scotland to the east and the Mourne Mountains to the south. With stone pitching as its main feature, the Divis summit trail is designed to maintain the condition of the mountain slope while providing public access. The obvious route on a mountain is to head for the highest point (here Divis) and this is a perfectly good option and easily done via the Summit Trail (see map). Other trails are the Heath Trail, which also runs for around four miles, inland and to the north of Divis, while the short – just under a mile – Lough Trail has views over to Lough Neagh. Divis Ridge Trail The circular Divis Ridge trail is located in the Belfast Hills and offers spectacular skyline views over Belfast.
